چکیده

The purpose of this work is to express emissivity in Meteosat-8/SEVIRI channels by means of linear combinations of LSE values in the thermal bands of MODIS sensor. Then, the developed linear models are applied to MODIS11C3 monthly CMG LST product in order to obtain LSE estimations for SEVIRI channels within Meteosat-8 disk.

Land-Surface Emissivity Retrieval in MSG-SEVIRI TIR Channels Using MODIS Data

A procedure is presented that allows using information from the MODerate resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) sensor to improve the quality of emissivity maps for the Meteosat Second Generation/Spinning Enhanced Visible and Infrared Imager (SEVIRI) currently in use as input to a generalized split window (SW) algorithm for land-surface temperature (LST) retrievals in the operational chai...

Intercomparison of two BRDF models in the estimation of the directional emissivity in MIR channel from MSG1-SEVIRI data.

This work intercompared two Bi-directional Reflectance Distribution Function (BRDF) models, the modified Minnaert's model and the RossThick-LiSparse-R model, in the estimation of the directional emissivity in Middle Infra-Red (MIR) channel from the data acquired by the Spinning Enhanced Visible and Infra-Red Imager (SEVIRI) onboard the first Meteosat Second Generation (MSG1). The bi-directional...

A Simplified Method for Measuring Land Surface Temperature and Emissivity Using Thermal Infrared Split-window Channels

Satellite land surface temperature (LST) derivation is usually performed at infrared spectrum using multi-channel technique. Because of coupled effects in LST problem, spectral land surface emissivity information is required explicitly or implicitly in such technique, which itself is difficult to be determined accurately. Gillespie et al. [1] presented a numerical method for separating LST and ...

An Angular and Emissivity Dependent Algorithm to Determine Sea Surface Temperature from Msg-seviri Data

A frequent and high-accuracy determination of Sea Surface Temperature (SST) would permit an improvement in the forecasting of natural hazards and the monitoring of the effects of climate change. The Spinning Enhanced Visible and Infrared Imager (SEVIRI) on board the geostationary METEOSAT Second Generation (MSG) platforms offers this possibility. Algorithms for SST retrieval from MSGSEVIRI data...
